Now is the Time of Monsters: What comes after nations? was a three-day discussion curated by Rana Dasgupta, Nanna Heidenreich and Katrin Klingan at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt Berlin 23-25 March 2017. There were four thematic sections designed to address the question of how to think beyond the limits of the nation-state system. On Friday 24 March, the Migration section hosted “Migration – Talking Migration” an all-day talking with Avery Gordon, Bernd Kasparek, Sandro Mezzadra, Zoran Terzic, Brigitta Kuster, Isabelle Saint-Saëns, Ramzi Kassem and Kim Rygiel.This talk introduces the language of the runaway – preparation and fugitivity – into the sphere of migration to see what happens to the meaning of the term migration.
