Several articles were written about the US military prison when news of torture, abuse, and legal disablement of prisoners of war and so-called unlawful alien enemy combatants in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Cuba gave the normally secretive military prison unprecedented attention. This article analyses the military prison regime, its links to US civilian prisons, and the geopolitical terms which order this prison regime.
